The Promised Land: Promised by Whom?
A Burning Bush, A Voice in One’s Head?
The Jews of ancient times convinced themselves, through a concocted myth, that they were god’s “Chosen People”, a delusional belief which painted a target upon their backs that has not faded in several millennia. They were “chosen” & instructed to drive out the inhabitants of a certain stretch of land then, & have done likewise in the past century based on those writings of desert nomads whose brains had been fried by the hot sun for too long. The rights of the ancient indigenous population, as well as those in the past century, were deemed irrelevant & the people expendable &, thereby, worthy of being murdering &/or driven out.
It takes a sick cookie to think that one’s god is more authentic than another’s god, especially to the extreme of driving out while exterminating an entire mass of people occupying a piece of land. Yet, here we are, well into the 21st century, with the U$ & Europe still supporting such thinking & backing it up with the weapons & political will to continue to do so despite the horrifying conditions, slaughter, & trauma being experienced by the indigenous inhabitants.
In one case, Ukraine, the U$ & Europe side with the unjustly invaded, while in another, Palestine, we have sided & strongly supported the savage invaders for the better part of a century of apartheid, expulsion, & genocide. Despite Palestine being an area which had been occupied by Arabs for centuries, Western Civilization feels that Zionists have the right to invade, occupy, & usurp the territory while killing & removing the indigenous residents. Based on what!?
It must be recalled that the means of communication back in those ancient times were burning bushes or voices in one’s head telling various people things like “Go kill your son” to Abraham, “Thou shalt not x 10” to Moses, or “Build a boat to house a zoo” to Noah. Justice was not on the table either in those days of removing &/or killing the natives of a territory, just as…
