Much was lost when communism collapsed, as I will soon publish in a spate of article on this theme. I have lived in a former Soviet state since 1994 & have had countless discussions with those who lived under that system. I can also see the devastation being brought on by the robber corparate capitalism that has stripped the people here of their trust in one another, outsiders, & their own abiliities. The competition is destroying what little decency remains.
