Individualism & the "me, me, me" mentality that it inspires through competition & being #1 at all costs has definitely shot its load. A return to some sense of community would definitely increase chances of humanity surviving the violence & chaos it has generated through its greed & having forgotten that we have achieved the great things that we have because of our ability to collaborate.
