Hideous 3-story St. George dungeon (church on top, school in middle, basement was a gym-auditorium combo). Built about 100 years ago of dirty reddish brown bricks by an architect who must have obtained his license in a bargain basement. Has finally been taken down.

My Roads to Educational Psychology & Writing

My ghastly childhood schooling experiences played an enormous role in making educational psychology my life’s work. Though not sexually abused, I was severely traumatized, mostly emotionally, throughout the entire 12 years of schooljail. Hit only once by a nun, I recall the incident with such venom that if the clock were rewound & the scene were rerun, it would play out completely differently. For the forceful straight-arm with the heel of her hand right in the mouth, I would beat the bitch right then & there without the slightest mercy or remorse. She was mean; I don’t recall her ever being kind to anyone. My incident with her left the need for revenge to linger in my memories.

Unfortunately, my buddies would have restrained me from kicking the living daylights out of her although they too would have loved to beat her to a pulp. I wasn’t strong, but I was fast & being 13 was already taller than the bully Sr. Albina, & I’m sure the rage I felt at the injustice would have been more than adequate to grind her up. Her being wound up in black medieval garb consisting of enough fabric to fashion a tent would not have worked in her favor.
